The first thing to do (before buying the genset!) was to measure the space on the truck. The spare and tool rack were removed. Removing the spare tire bracket was alot of work as the air tanks are right behind it and the nuts are almost impossible to reach even after loosening the tanks and partially moving them. Right behind that frame rail is the air line and brake line, so much care has to be taken when drilling holes for the mounting brackets which are a set of M35A2 fuel tank brackets. In order to accomodate the lines, an extra set of holes was drilled in the brackets. The truck frame is thick, and some oil and patience helps get the bit through.
