Information: Use of CRTs as Memory Devices

* The RCA 6499 Radechon can record analog and digital information, but it has no display screen. Nonetheless, read/write functions with continuously variable speed and random addressability are very interesting.
* The IBM 701 computer used the IBM 706 Electrostatic Storage Unit.
* This was the first ever RAM and used simple CRTs very much like any oscilloscope crt.
* Yes! You too can experiment with recording data on a CRT and watch it work! This is advanced material so enjoy it!
