This seems like a good idea and is much better than Hammy Hambone drilling holes in the case for external fans. The fine old gear needs to be pampered; once it's toasted, that's the end of it. Heat is your enemy. The small cost is worth it, even for inexpensive gear. I even added an internal fan to a Realistic TRC-458 Navaho CB base station (There is no shame in -also- having a decent CB radio, especially if you are close to truck stops and the interstates.) and it has really made a difference in the power supply temperature. The idea is good for any equipment old or new.
