Closup of the fittings and check valve. The hose is to be pushed onto these fittings. The instructions are rather general, and despite lubing the fittings and working in warm weather with the hose, the hose was -very- difficult to push on. I didn't get it bottomed on all the fittings, but I believe it is on good enough. It's definitely not coming off! The check valve keeps the engine oil pressure from going back to the pump. Not only does this prevent any possible backflow, but is also a safety in case one of the system hoses should fail.
The oil change included 5 Gallons of 15W40 Rotella and while I was at it I also added spin-on oil filter adapters and WIX 51970XE 5 micron filters rated at 28GPM each. The stock filters were 15 micron and flow only 12GPM each.
The video shows turning on the power swirch and the preluber pressurizing the filters and engine to 30PSI. As can be seen the M35's LDT engine takes about 20 seconds to make oil pressure. Using the preluber will eliminate those really bad dry starts. The preluber also stays on for 5 minutes after engine shutdown (power switch off) to cool the turbocharger down.
